People get to have their own viewpoints and live their own life now that they are out of the cult. I might not confront every JW I see, but if someone else feels the need to, it’s not up to me to decide what’s right or wrong for the whole wrold anymore. Plus the JWs do come to peoples houses to tell people they will die if they don’t join the witnesses, so I don’t feel too bad for a little confrontation. No violence though.

Stop harassing jws
by pomo6780 inwe want people to learn ttatt.
we have numerous resources online to draw jws in so that they will wake up.
however, i've noted some radical methods that have been used by fellow exjws, and quite frankly, this must stop.

I cry during the National Anthem now
by kairos inafter being a jw for 25 years and finding every weasel way to 'maintain christian neutrality', i now find myself in a completely 'new light'.. i quit abruptly, four years ago and have lived a jw free life with the exception of my born-in wife.when i see the ceremony of the national anthem, it not only reaffirms the absolute beauty of personal freedom, but it also allows me to see that most people are good and loyal to one another.
i treasure my life and have become a patriot.
now i feel ashamed that i was a government/authority rejecting, isolationist that benefited from living in the greatest country in the world.

It makes me emotional because I realize how lucky I am to have the freedom I have. Freedom of religion, to choose a career, a college, a marriage mate, where to live, etc. So thankful I live in a country that allows me to choose.

What can the leadership at Watchtower do to turn things around?
by UnshackleTheChains inlet's play devils advocate here.. put yourself in the governing body's shoes.
they are well aware of all the issues they are facing.
they know their numbers (they 'do the math' as they say in the us).

From a business standpoint they need to do a root cause analysis for the decline in the affluent nations. The 3rd world countries are a "product line" that is losing money. Concentrate on the affluent nations and rebrand as a regular religion that isn't trying to control everyone's lives. Loosen restrictions on disfellowshipping, holidays, nonsense of spying on members, and they would be ok. But the huge egos involved in the GB will never allow that to happen.
Also they think the magic guy in the sky is going to save them, delusion has never saved a business enterprise.

It also helps you to see that having such narrow views really limits JWs lives. What other people are doing rarely has much of an effect on me. I don't need to judge them, punish them, condemn them to eternal destruction. It is very freeing to realize that.

Sounds more like a big shit stirrer. I stopped believing unsopported statements when I left the JW's. Either produce proof or go away.
And no I am not a big Lloyd supporter.

Radio Ministers explain Satan's actions
by days of future passed inas i was driving home last night, i happened onto a radio station that had two "ministers" answering questions from the listeners.. they were just as clever as the wt in twisting explanations.
i had to laugh as well as shake my head over the manipulation of the scriptures.
the last question was, why does satan attack god's holy city after he is let loose at the end of the 1,000 years.

I was at dinner the other night when a guy at a nearby table started talking loudly about how Satan was messing with him by making him lose his keys and stumble and fall.
I said to my husband it might have more to do with vodka than Satan, but whatever.

Why "fancy dress" and "theme weddings" were BANNED by our Congregation!
by Witness 007 inour kingdom hall was in a boring town of 30,000 people so to spice things up me and some special pioneers living with us decided to have a fancy dress up party!
what could go wrong?
nice clean fun, and no booze (oh crap!).

I went to several formal parties - just far away from my home congregation. In my area it was a huge no- no, but as long as I was far enough away that no one local would know - it was A-ok. Optics are everything.

Funny they should choose footloose, given the movie was about repressing free thought.

"exjws" and money making Ponzi schemes.
by Thisismein1972 inok i want to pose a question to those who care to discuss this.. imagine a scenario.
you hear of a exjw writing a book, however, before writing this book this exjw is requesting money to publish said book.
you go along with it and help to get this book out to the public as you think that it will be beneficial.
